Melissa Perlman was 15 years old when she won four bronze medals at the 1997 Maccabi Games in Israel.

This week Perlman, 31, will fly to Israel and compete for a medal in the 2013 Maccabi Games.

A Florida state champion when she competed in one mile and two mile cross country races for Spanish River High School in Boca Raton, the 2000 graduate ran for Brown University but gave up running competitively after two years.
